Sinking of the RMS LusitaniaOverall, considering all sides of the incident, I would conclude that the sinking of the RMS Lusitania, with her port of registry being the U.K. was Germany’s fault on May 7, 1915. This was because it was a GERMAN U-Boat (Under water boat) which torpedoed the Cunard Ocean Liner. It was unarmed and sank in approximately 18 minutes and 11 miles off the coast of Old Head of Kinsale. It killed 1,198 people and only 761 survivors. This waged war and made tensions especially tighter between Great Britain and Germany, not to mention they were on the two different, violent, large opposing alliances during World War I. Even though Germans informed the Americans not to board allied ships, it was irrelevant because there was indicating that it was a threat to Germany. Supposedly the captain should have driven the boat in a different pattern but that still does not justify the sinking of a boat with innocent civilians. Talk about a trip gone terribly wrong.
